The Story Behind The Scent
Smells have a special place in my life. While my childhood memories aren't filled with many great moments, the ones that stand out are always linked to a particular scent. My connection to my biological mother lies in her scent – the delightful fragrance of peaches – my sole memory of her. Through their unique power, scents allow me to revisit cherished memories, keeping them alive within me. Fragrance has profoundly influenced my life, offering solace, comfort, and enrichment to my well-being.
Two things help me lose myself and feel connected: working out and making candles. When I'm crafting candles, I feel a profound connection to the world around me.
Initially, making candles served as an escape from my worries, but over time, it has evolved into my happy place. This journey gave rise to Mudita Meraki. "Mudita" - The concept stems from Buddhist teachings on sympathetic joy – finding joy or happiness due to the success, well-being, or happiness of others and "Meraki" – is a Greek term representing the act of doing something with passion, putting a piece of yourself into what you create, and leaving a bit of your essence in what you do.
